Sun Flower Mandala

Notes from the ecopsychological expressive art work-bench: Sun Flower Mandala

Struggling with the loss of a loved one can be difficult. This is a blog about the journey learning how to manage the stressors of loss through the creative arts together

While group is a confidential space, there are occasions when participants collectively agree to make a particular creation or expression public. There can be value in communicating certain things at certain times.

This is one of those cases given recent disturbing news events. It was suggested to take a saunter outside to check in with sunflowers sown last spring in the community food justice garden (thanks to Change the World Kids photo below) in attempt to integrate the feelings therein.

This is what occurred thence forth. Photography & group poetry suffice to document a temporary group horticulture sculpture installation:

Here stands a salute to all
we love

we are making life out of death

soil connects life and death

the pure power of sun and circles

we're surrendering, to rest

and create together

to communicate with the heavens

Thank you to all who take the time to share their process above. This blog was created in response to your request to be able to share your healing process with those who are unable to be present. I thank you and your families for your support and overwhelming kindness.
